Sex.. City..

Today is Friday. It is a weekend in this Arabian country. Ray is still on his business trip. My housemate’s 11 months baby was crying the whole day, with no reason. Ergg.. should I go out to the mall? NO, most of the shops were closed in this Ramadan month. They will open during iftar time – 6pm. Boring boring.. I was so boring at home. Again, on my pc, finished some proposals, browsed through some news and at last I have found that I still haven’t watch the movie Sex and the city. It has been downloaded for a few weeks but I have not watched it.
I know the series and the movie has a very good comment from the audience but I have never watched the series before. Well, you may think that I am a bit ‘out’. So, I do not have any idea what the exact story is. The only thing that I know about this show is 4 women in New York City.
Finished the movie, it’s not too bad but it’s not my favorite story. But I totally agreed with Carrie’s say, people go to New York City for 2 ‘L’; Label and Love! After all, it’s a materialistic world! The only thing that warmed my heart is the women’s friendship in this movie.
I don’t recommend this movie to guys, and I think Ray won’t like it too.

跑步-瘦身

最近很勤劳瘦身，因为skinny jeans越穿越窄了，很怕有一天会拉不上；至少这三天都没偷懒，有去跑步。我的跑步朋友SK先生又放飞机，原因：很累，唉，还不是每天晚上和女友msn倾到很夜，所以‘很累’。嘻。
天气越来越好，大概冬天要到了吧。一个人跑步，戴上mp3 ， 海风吹来，很爽哩！这边其实很安全，犯罪率比祖国低很多，只要穿着不‘太’爆露，是没事的。（穿着 ‘太’爆露，听说会被警告，严重会被关进牢）。唯一一点我不太喜欢是这里有很多猫—野猫。我室友的小孩和邻居小孩都喜欢和野猫玩。所以我时常带着恐吓的口吻灌输‘野猫很肮脏，会咬人，有细菌，中细菌会生病，要住院，一个人住院很可怕，爸妈不可以陪你，可能会死掉’的教育给他们。两个星期前，我使过被一只猫追，然后我从2公尺高的墙跳下来，没什么，手脚擦伤，洗澡时痛了几天而已。然后那只逼我跳墙的猫还跟踪我几天。讨厌！！！没办法，我今天只好兜路走。
在这异乡跑步的另一个个好处是，你可以边听mp3边唱歌，不需要理别人的眼光，因为不管你唱得多难听都很少人听得懂。

这里车牌很难考，排期很久也比较难，据说他们不吃duit kopi，所以不容易。所以我们很常坐taxi。但，有时也刻意走走，当散步。

Mc Arabia Chicken

I don’t eat fast food quite often. The fast food franchise that I visited the most is McD. Sometime I just eat the RM1.05 sundae ice-cream. I went jogging and had my dinner @ McD Khalidiya today – I should not have the hi-calorie food but it’s the best place to have dinner by myself, fast food ma. It was my first McDonald meal at the Abu Dhabi McDonald Restaurant (I went there for ice-cream before)

In the restaurant
Cashier : Welcome Mam, can I help you?
Me : Thanks, erm.. (looking at the menu).. erm.. what is the best menu here which is different with the McD restaurant in Asia?
Cashier : Mam, everything is good here. You want to have beef or chicken?
Me : Erm.. (I was thinking to eat fillet-o-fish, that’s the burger that I order most of the time)
Cashier : You can try Mc Arabia, it’s the specialty here..
Me : Oh. Mc Arabia. Oh.. ok.. sounds special.. is it nice? (still looking at the picture, not believe the cashier)
Cashier : Sure. It is very good.
Me : Oh Ok, gimme a Mc Arabian Chicken and an Orange juice. I don’t want set menu, I don’t eat the fries.
Cashier : Sure. Do you want chicken or beef?
Me : Chicken la.
Cashier : Large orange juice?
Me : Erm. Medium please.
Cashier : Take away?
Me : Having here.
Cashier : AED 16 please
(I paid and wait for 4 minutes)



Me : (Looking at the receipt : 1 Large OJ cost AED 4) Is this Orange Juice LARGE? (pointing at the small cup in the tray)
Cashier : Yes, Mam.
Me : Oh ok. It looks small.
Cashier : Thank you mam. (passing me my Arabian sandwich + LARGE orange juice.














Nice Mc Arabian chicken sandwich, there is 2 chicken fillet that wrap by the Arabic flatbread with some tomato, onion and mayonnaise. – DIE. HI calorie.
It make me think about RAMLY BURGER – isi with lots of cabbage, onion, tomato and mayonnaise…

Bad mood

I love to cry, or I should say I am a sentimental person (better description)
I remembered I have a nick name when I was young – crying baby aka HAMBAO (my sis, CY sure remembered this!!!) but I don’t remember what I cry for during baby time or toddlers time, most probably bullied by CY.
When I am growing up, I still cry for a very small thing eg. reading a sad story, an article, listening to a sad song, watching a sad movie, missing my family which 3500miles from me or missing my dear cousin who had passed away.
My mood is down for 2 times today.
Why? What happen?
I saw my friend’s baby pictures; he had cleft lip n palate when he was new born. My tears drop when I saw his new born pictures. He looks good now after surgeries, I am really proud of his toughness, and of coz my dear friend and her husband. I pray for him, may god bless him; wish him growing well and healthy.
My 2nd bad mood - I saw a bird flying down from sky, dropped 2 meters in front of me, on the main road when I was waiting a taxi today. I should save it I suppose it is dizzying **** and it still crossing the road! And car crashed it. Immediately I jump into a taxi and cry when it still at the middle of the road. The Arabian driver got shocked see me crying. I blamed myself for didn't save it... God bless, I didn’t see its body when I back home 30 minutes later. May god bless the bird. Hope it is still good and now flying in the blue blue sky. I can't do anything, only praying...

My 1st lonely night in Abu Dhabi

I admit that I am selfish…
I do not like Ray to leave me, alone, in this strange city.
Its 1027pm now and ray’s flight is departing to Bangkok.
It’s the 1st night I stay in Abu Dhabi without Ray.
I am in a bad mood, super bad. In fact I already felt sad a few days before he left.
I have talked to my sisters via skype made me felt a little bit better.
I used to have Ray beside me every night.
Psp-ing, watching movie, joking around and eating junk food together!!!
But he is left, the room is so cold and I felt so lonely now.
Listening to ‘leaving on a jet plane’ and my world is snowing…
Its just the 1st night. i have 5 nights to go...

Internet-ic OR World Wide Web-ic

Because of my job, I spent 8-12 hrs online each day; or maybe more than that. Sometimes I think I am addicted to internet or i called it internet-ic. I remembered my very first few days in Abu Dhabi, about a week, I couldn’t get online because no facilities at home, I felt depressed. I felt I was disconnected with the other part of the world. Very 夸张.. I couldn’t remember when I started use internet, it probably around year 1995, which is 13 years ago. And it still is developing from time to time, from day to day.

Other than work, what else I do online? I think I reading news, messaging and blogging – reading blog most of the time. And of coz email and social group…

The commonness of internet blogging has impacted the recent 308 election in Malaysia badly, which 5 of 13 state legislatures were won by the opposition. I do not want to talk much about politic here but I realize that a lot of famous blogger and politician used blogs to voice out dissent and criticism against the Malaysian Government. I enjoyed reading it and I suppose everybody enjoyed it as well. That’s the power of internet and www!

Other than information, the best thing about internet is we can get in touch with everyone world wide easily. I spent time in Skyp-ing with business partners and family as well. And I think my parents are pretty good in doing this – msn-ing, skyp-ing among the elderly group :P (they forced to use it as all the kids are abroad!) Mom even knows how to use emotioncon and winks in the msn!!! What a surprise! Hahaha..

I think I should reduce my online time. Otherwise I don’t know how to survive if I can’t get online, one day…

不知道为什么，每次到每一个地方总是要到最高点去看看，例如：到纽约就要到帝王大厦；到首尔就要到南山塔；KL就要到吉隆坡塔；清迈之双龙寺；香港—山顶The Peak；我人在阿布扎比，当然也到全城最高旋转餐厅，鸟瞰夜景。
Al Fanar Restaurant 座于Abu Dhabi Le Royal Meridien Hotel 顶楼，是城中唯一旋转餐厅。食物还ok，当然夜景很赞啦！

Happy Birthday To You...

Today, 9th Sept is Ray's birthday.
We just back from Benihana restaurant @ Beach Rotana Resort Abu Dhabi. We had a great dinner - Teppanyaki. We met a nice couple, an american husband and a korean wife which stay a part. The husband is here for the work and the wife is going back to the states.
Thanks god that Ray and I have stayed together now since we have been apart for so many years. I guess this was his previous birthday wishes, that already came true :) Do not know what his birthday wish this year.

Anyway, i wish he is well all the time and dreams come true!

09092008 2209 AD time

Satay in Abu Dhabi

31st August, it was Malaysia’s Merdeka day, and I dreamed I was enjoying satay, somewhere… (do not remember where I makan satay :P, anyway, it’s a dream. Hehe)
So happen that we went dine in at the Down Town restaurant, Sheraton Khalidiya. Browsed through the food menu quickly and I have made up my mind to order ‘Malay fried rice with satay and peanut sauce’.. hooray, I don’t expect I can get SATAY over here, in the Middle East. The satays are different with our satay, it is made of the whole piece of chicken breast. The peanut sauce is good too, just too much coconut milk and lack of crashed peanut. Hehe.. too many comments huh? Right after the dinner, we went to the Choithram to buy some food and i have bought the BBQ marinate powder and satay sauce. It is not as good as our HOME satay but I think it probably is the best in Abu Dhabi, for the Malaysian here… I think we will do it again during BBQ in the winter.




Ingredient A
- 1 pack of BBQ marinate powder
- Chicken
- Satay peanut sauce

Step 1 : Clean the chicken and cut it into ½” x ½” cubic
Step 2 : Marinated the chicken with the powder
Step 3 : Weave the chicken onto bamboo skewers
Step 4 : Pan fried it with some cooking oil with slow fire (barbeque is the best!)
Step 5 : Heat the peanut sauce
Ready !

Ben Stiller vs Adam Sandler

I am a big fan of Ben Stiller.. erm, since ‘There Is Something About Mary’! It is not that late, it is probably about 10 years after he started his acting career. I have been waiting for Ben Stiller’s new movie for a few months.. and here it came in the summer! Tropic Thunder!! And of cause Ray and I watch it in the cinema. It is the best and the funniest comedy I ever watch in this 2 years. I never stop laughing in the cinema. Hehehe..
The story is about the film stars Tugg Speedman (Ben Stiller), five-time Academy Award-winner Kirk Lazarus (Robert Downey, Jr.), rap star Alpa Chino (Brandon T. Jackson), low-brow drug-addled comedian Jeff Portnoy (Jack Black), and character actor Kevin Sandusky (Jay Baruchel) as a group of prima donna actors making a Vietnam War film when their fed-up writer and director decide to abandon them in the middle of the jungle, forcing them to fight their way out while the director videoed them with the hidden video to produce a real documentary film. The film breaks Speedman's streak of flops and he wins the award for Best Actor, presented to him by the previous year's Oscar winner, Kirk Lazarus. (from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tropic_Thunder)
You might find out there are a little not realistic in this movie e.g. the Heroin producer in Golden Triangle is speaking Mandarin and the team is lead by a young boy etc. But, who care? It is just a comedy. Just for laugh…

The Tugg Speedman




Adam Sandler, another comedy actor that Ray likes a lot. He was doing pretty well in some of the comedies. But not the recent ‘You Don’t Mess With The Zohan’. It is about the super Israeli commando, Zohan Dvir, who is sick of combat and fakes his death so he can re-emerge in New York City as a hair stylist. He romances his clients by giving them "special services" in the back room. However, he is eventually recognized, and risks losing his newfound life and career. I usually enjoy Adam Sandler's movies. However this was one of the worst movies I have ever seen. Ray and I watched this movie in 3 days. It was boring and awful and we can’t continue in one time. One word --- Disappointed.

The Zohan
